Vinzaglio

Vinzaglio ( Vinsàj Piedmontese ) is a municipality with 585 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Novara (NO ), Region Piedmont.

The neighboring municipalities are Borgo Vercelli, Casalino, Confienza, Palestro and Vercelli.

Geography

The municipality covers an area of ​​15 km ².

History

In Vinzaglio Palestro and it came in late May 1859 during the Italian War of Independence skirmishes between Piedmont and French forces on one side and Austrian forces on the other side. The Austrians were forced to retreat in the direction of Milan. In Magenta they suffered a heavy defeat.
