The Global Flyer ( Scaled Composites Model 311, registration ' N277SF ') is a built in behalf of Steve Fossett plane the company Scaled Composites. With it he started on 1 March 2005 at 0:45 UTC to circumnavigate the Earth in a non-stop flight. He landed on 3 March at 19:48 UTC clock back to his starting place in Salina / Kansas, after he had mastered the route of 36898.04 km in 67 hours, two minutes and 38 seconds. On this flight eight FAI records were set.

The aircraft is powered by a Williams International FJ44 -3 ATW turbofan jet engine with a static thrust of 10.2 kN and has only a narrow cockpit, which is equipped with an autopilot and a Sauerstoffnotsystem. The 13 fuel tanks hold 10,200 liters of kerosene and make 83 % of the starting weight of. In order to save mass, was also on equipment such as a de-icing system for the wings omitted.
