Vitalijs Pavlovs

Vitālijs Pavlov ( born June 17, 1989 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player standing since 2012 with Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Vitālijs Pavlov began his career at SK Riga, for the U20 team, he played from 2007 in the Latvian Hockey League. In the following season, he was active for DHK Latgale both in the Belarusian Extraliga, as well as in the Latvian Hockey League. Between 2009 and 2011 he was then at HK Liepaja Metalurgs under contract, for which he also ran aground in the Extraliga. In parallel, he won the Latvian championship with the second team of the club in 2011.

Before the season 2011/12 Pavlov joined the Kazakh Hockey Championship for the HK Beibarys Atyrau, with whom he won the Kazakh champion title at the end of the season.

On 9 August 2012, he received from Dinamo Riga a two year contract and made his debut on December 5, 2012 in the Continental Hockey League against the HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk, after he started the season with the cooperation partner Jokipojat from the Mestis.

Doping case in 2014

Pavlov took part in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi as part of the Latvian national team. On February 22, 2014 it was announced that he was tested positive for methylhexaneamine and then excluded from the games.
