Vojtech Christov

Vojtěch Christov ( born March 16, 1945 in Vranov nad Topľou ) is a former Czechoslovak football referee.

Life

Christov attended until 1964 the high school of his native city, and studied from 1964 to 1969 at the University of Economics in Bratislava.

Since 1968 he was a football referee and from 1974 he was whistling in the 1st Czechoslovak league. Two years later he was FIFA and UEFA referee.

Christov was with four major events as arbitrator active: He was referee at the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980, the same year he led the EC II final between Valencia and Arsenal (0-0 aet and 5-4 on penalties). . In 1982, he whistled at the Football World Cup 1982 in Spain a game where he showed two yellow cards.
