Vrbice (Karlovy Vary District)

Vrbice ( German Großfürwitz, even large Fürwitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-east of Žlutice and belongs to Okres Karlovy Vary.

Geography

Vrbice is located south of the Doupov Mountains in Teplá Highlands. In the south of the State Road 6/ 48 E runs east the valley of the creek is Libkovický.

Neighboring towns are Bela in the north, Valeč and Jeren in the northeast, Kostrčany and Nahořečice in the east, Libkovice the southeast, Podštěly, Chyše, Nová Teplice and Bosov in the south, Skřipová the southwest, Verušičky and Týniště in the west and Velky Hlavákov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village to the estate Libkovice associated Wrbyczi was 1384. Owners were at that time the Petrovec of Libkovice. 1434 acquired Otík of Chrast Libkovice with all accessories; from 1452 it belonged to the lords of Hora Ocelovice. 1577 was a division of property rule Libkovice; in the following five years, the brothers sold Hora successively both parts. 1607 had Catherine Berka of Dubé all Good Libkovice including Vrbice. From her daughter 's heritage in 1681 fell to Franz Augustin von Waldstein. After his death in 1684 his brother, the Bishop of Prague, Johann Friedrich von Waldstein owner of the goods. He sold it in 1693 to Franz Nikolaus Freiherr von Klebelsberg that further gave it the same year to Johann Georg Graf von Clary and Aldringens. From the Count Clary Aldrigen bought the estate in 1755 Franz von Hartig. As of 1806, the family was the owner of Wenisch Libkovice and Velka Vrbice.

After the abolition of Patrimonialharrschaften created in 1850 the municipality Großfürwitz / Velka Vrbice with the district Poschau / Pošov in the district Luditz. Until the establishment of a church in 1890 Großfürwitz was gepfarrt after Nahořečice. 1899 Joseph sold the goods to Welisch Vincent Count of Thurn - Valsassina. From 1921 the town was named Großfürwitz / Vrbice. 1930 lived 408 people in the United Fürwitz. After the Munich Agreement in 1938 the community was added to the German Reich and until 1945 the village belonged to the district Luditz. 1939 United Fürwitz 392 inhabitants. After the end of the war Vrbice came back to Czechoslovakia and was filed in 1946 in the Okres Toužim. Since 1961 Vrbice belongs to Okres Karlovy Vary. In the same year Skřipová, which had previously belonged to Verušičky was umgemeindet after Vrbice. Between 1975 and 1990 Vrbice was incorporated to Valeč.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Vrbice Bosov ( Poschau ) Skřipová ( Krippau ) and Vrbice ( Großfürwitz ).

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Skřipová and Vrbice u válce.
