Walk of Fame of Cabaret

"Stars of satire - Walk of Fame of Cabaret " is the name of a piece pedestrian zone along the supplies office in Mainz. It combines the housed in the old fort building Stiftung Deutsches cabaret archive with the house of commons - Mainzer Forum -Theater and the Schiller Street. With one bronze star with seven swinging subscribed peaks, the names of important German-speaking comedians are immortalized, along with the name of the founder. In this way, at the Romano Guardini space are currently 77 star admitted (as of October 22, 2013 ). In addition, three empty slots prepared for other stars are present.

Genesis

Was established the "Walk of Fame of Cabaret " with the relocation of cabaret archive into the historical provisions magazine in July 2004. On July 16, the installation in the presence of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media, Christina Weiss was, and Kurt Beck, Minister President of Rhineland -Palatinate, opened. The stars are made of bronze. The star of the name of the artist is embedded in capital letters, a stainless steel star in the center contains their personal signature.

By an expert group were 80 famous artists from the area cabaret and satire, selected for the "Walk of Fame". Each star has a donor (donor / sponsor), which together form the "Association star of satire ." Aim of the association was originally to bring to the 110th birthday of German cabaret in 2011, all 80 "stars " on the way. At least since 2013 it is known that the list includes 120 people.

More than eighty artistic- documentary discounts and materials to over eight thousand names in the history of cabaret and its historical precursor now form the core of the cabaret archive, which goes back to a private initiative Reinhard Hippens 1961. Its counterpart is the "Walk of Fame" in the "Hall of Fame" in Bernburg Castle in Bernburg (Saale ). Numerous archival remember also there to the "immortals " of the cabaret.

Initiator of the stars of satire is the current Managing Director of the German cabaret Archive Foundation, Jürgen Kessler, who was Manager of Hanns Dieter Hüsch decades.
