Walking in the Air

The song Walking in the Air was founded in 1982 by Howard Blake for the animated film The Snowman ( The Snowman ) written, based on the children's book. The music theme accompanies a little boy and a snowman on their flight to the North Pole.

In the film, the song by Peter Auty is presented, who sang in the choir of St Paul's Cathedral at the time. The 1985 -released single was sung by Aled Jones. It reached number 5 in the UK pop charts and marked the beginning of his music career. In the following years many other cover versions were produced in a variety of styles, from pop to metal.

" Walking in the Air " became an annual part of British television. The song was so popular that in 2006 a parody version was used in a commercial for the soft drink Irn- Bru. In the modified text of the boy and the snowman over Edinburgh, Loch Ness and Glasgow fly. When the boy refuses to give the snowman a little of the drink him the snowman takes away the can and throws the boy down in the snow beside the King George Square ..
