Walter Rangeley

Walter Rangeley ( born December 14, 1903 in Salford, † March 16, 1982 at Glyndŵr ) was a British athlete and multiple Olympic medalist.

Rangeley won the silver medal in the 4 x 100 -meter relay at the 1924 Olympics in Paris. The British team placed in the occupation of Harold Abrahams, William Nichol, Rangeley and Lancelot Royle behind the U.S. and ahead of the Dutch relay. In the 100 -meter run, however, he retired from as early as the quarter-final round. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928, he finished together with Cyril Gill, Edward Smouha and Jack London third. He also began this time also in the 200 -meter run, where he won the silver medal behind the Canadian Percy Williams and before the German Helmut Körnig. In the 100 -meter run, he came again not over the quarter -finals. At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, he did not participate.

In the British Empire Games in 1934 Rangeley won the English 4-by- 110- yards - season and was third on 220 yards. His last international championship is he graduated at the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 when he took up once more in the relay. However, the British team failed to qualify for the finals themselves.

Walter Rangeley was 1.74 m tall, weighed his active life of 65 kg, and started for the Salford Harriers. He worked as a bank clerk.
