Wanda Ventham

Wanda Ventham (* August 5, 1935 in Brighton, East Sussex, England) is a British actress.

Life

Ventham attended the Central School of Speech and Drama. Made her feature film debut, she had on the side of Anna Neagle and Sylvia Syms in the film drama My Teenage Daughter. She starred in the episode in various British films, including two films from the Carry-on ... film series and in Richard Lester's comedy The Knack. The breakthrough as a film actress her never succeeded, which is why they mainly worked in television productions. She had guest roles in some of Britain's most successful television series of the 1960s as secret mission for John Drake, The Avengers and melon and in point 6. Between 1970 and 1973 she played Col. Virginia Lake in the science fiction series UFO. She stepped at intervals of ten years in various roles three times in the series Doctor Who on; 1967 as a denim skirt, 1977 as Thea Ransome and 1987 as Faroon. She also starred in soap operas such as Emmerdale and Heartbeat.

Ventham is married to actor Timothy Carlton, their son Benedict Cumberbatch is also an actor.
