History
The town was founded on 1 January 2010 from nine of the ten municipalities of the administrative community " flare " Wanzleben. The municipality sugar Kleinwanzleben village was incorporated on 1 September 2010 and co-managed by the city since January 1, 2010.

The city Wanzleben - Borde decided at its inaugural meeting on 8 January 2010, the former coat of arms of the present hamlet Wanzleben to lead in a different form. The change is in the number and positioning of the windows, so that the communities are symbolized, which merged to form the new city. The symbolism of the emblem refers to the castle Wanzleben in the sense of a common house, overlooking the villages of a shared future from the. As for the number of openings, so is the interpretation of 9 windows = 9 communes or 9 window and an open door = municipalities plus the city Wanzleben in view of the possibly later addition of the community Kleinwanzleben.
