Wayne Presley

Wayne Presley ( born March 23, 1965 in Dearborn, Michigan ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks, Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Career

Presley first played three years from 1982 to 1985 for the Kitchener Rangers and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Ontario Hockey League. In 1984 he reached the final tournament at the Kitchener Memorial Cup and the following year with Sault Ste. Marie. Already during the 1984/85 season put him the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League one after they selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 1983 in the second round to 39th position.

In the following years, the winger became a fixed part of the Blackhawks squad. There he had in the season 1986/87 his best NHL season with 61 points in 80 games. In September 1991 he transferred Chicago for a draft pick in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 to the San Jose Sharks, but where he remained only until March 1992. For Dave Snuggerud he was discharged to the Buffalo Sabres. Presley stayed the rest of the 1991/92 season and three more in Buffalo, but signed in the summer of 1995 as a free agent with the New York Rangers. There he remained, as in San Jose, only about nine months and went in exchange for Sergio Momesso to the Toronto Maple Leafs. After completion of the 1995/96 season Presley played the following two seasons only in the International Hockey League and American Hockey League, where he end his career at the farm teams of the Maple Leafs.
