Wei Qingguang

Wei Qingguang (Chinese韦 晴 光/韦 晴 光, Pinyin Wei Qingguang, Japanese reading I SEIKO ) later Iseki Seiko (Japanese伟 关 晴 光; born July 2, 1962 in Nanning ( China) ) is a table tennis player, formerly for China and now plays for Japan. He is a world champion and Olympic champion in doubles.

Achievements

Wei Qingguang is left-handed. In the Chinese national championships he won in 1984 in singles, and mixed with the team a year later in a double and mixed doubles.

Wei Qingguang usually played doubles with his compatriot Chen Longcan. Between 1987 and 2001, Wei Qingguang took part in six World Cups. With four World Cups he went to China, but was used only in the individual competitions. In 1987 he became world champion in doubles, in 1989, they came semi-finals where they were beaten by Rosskopf / Fetzner. In 1988 he was nominated for the Olympic Summer Games. He won with Chen Longcan the gold medal in doubles.

In May 1991 he moved from China to Japan. In 1998 he launched under Japanese nationality and took the name Seiko Iseki. He was national Japanese master 1999. For Japan, he started at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000 and at the World Championships in 2000 and 2001.
