Weida-Land

The community association Weida -Land is a town in the Saale district, in Saxony -Anhalt.. The municipality was formed on January 1, 2010 Since unitary councils may have a maximum of eight member municipalities, each with at least 1,000 inhabitants, it was on January 1, 2010 the following changes:

  • Merger of the municipalities Albersroda ( 459 inhabitants) and Steigra (870 inhabitants) to the new community Steigra ( 1,329 inhabitants)
  • Incorporation of the municipality Alberstedt ( 467 inhabitants) in the community Farnstädt whose population increased from 1,181 to 1,648
  • Incorporation of the municipality Esperstedt (646 inhabitants) in the community Obhausen whose population increased from 1,811 to 2,457

The population figures given are based on the date of December 31, 2008.

Through the municipality runs the eponymous Weida.

Traffic

Through the community association carries out the Federal highway 38 and State Road 180 in Nemsdorf - Göhrendorf there is a train station.
