Wenkelmobil

Wenkelmobil was a car brand that was built in 1903-1907 by the automobile plants Schneider & Co. in Berlin. Constructed had the vehicles of the 1874 -born Max Wenkel, who as a planter on Java was initially employed and had already built there around the turn of the century some automobiles. It was among the first products to motor car with friction drive, were built into the one-or two -cylinder engines of Companies De Dion -Bouton and Fafnir.

The small cars were equipped with air-and water-cooled four-stroke engines, which were installed at the front or at the rear. They made 3 to 6 hp ( 2.2 to 4.4 kW).

From 1905 the production was limited to a single model with water-cooled single-cylinder engine. The output was ( 4.4 to 5.1 kW) at 6-7 hp. In the following year a 9/10-PS-Modell came to its single-cylinder engine of 2.25 liter displacement, a power of 10 PS moved (7.4 kW).

Around 1907 the car production was discontinued for lack of demand.
