West Ruislip station

West Ruislip is a station in the London Borough of Hillingdon. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 6 at the Ickenham Road and is served by trains of the railway company Chiltern Railways, which run from London Marylebone station via High Wycombe to Birmingham. West Ruislip is also the northwestern terminus of the Central Line of the London Underground. In 2011, the subway counted 1.64 million passengers, the railway 0.224 million.

Plant

The tracks are located in the east-west direction at an incision. The station building forms part of the road bridge at the western end of the platforms on the north side, there is another entrance. The southernmost track is not electrified and is one kilometer east of the station as access from the railway line to the underground maintenance workshop. History

The station was opened on April 2, 1906 under the name Ruislip & Ickenham, when the Great Western Railway and the Great Central Railway who took operated jointly Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway (GW & GCJR ) towards High Wycombe in operation. As part of the 1935 adopted New Works Programme of the London Passenger Transport Board ( LPTB ) was an additional double track along the GW & GCJR moved to the end of the Second World War to allow the underground operation from North Acton ago.
