The song can be assigned to the genre Conscious Rap, as many passages are politically and socially critical.

In the intro Eminem says how many citizens are proud to live in the United States and that of the now existing rights of free speech, many people lost their lives and the government has vowed to get this. Then begins the first verse in which the rapper says of his rapid ascent to the top of the genre, and that he would not have dreamed that so many people share his opinion that such an army are now behind him. He raps about the influence of his songs and that he now has problems with the government, although it only unloads the dirt, he has been shoveling his life. The chorus Eminem says that he himself might be one of the small children in America, celebrating his rap and he has a huge fan following.

In the second verse, the rapper speaks on the prejudices with his looks. He says that he would sell twice as many plates because of its blue eyes and white skin color, as if he were black and brown eyes would. He also points out that it when he was still unknown, no one was interested in what color he had, and that did not accept him, on the contrary more than one label due to its under contract. It was not until Dr. Dre saw the real talent in him and supported him, both benefited from each other and to win fans of different ethnicities. The third verse is more accurately a how Eminem has won many followers. Because of his skin color, he would reach white kids from the suburbs who normally do not hear the rap and get with Dr. Dre as a producer and black fans.

Due to the high level of awareness Eminem each of his texts now would meticulously studied to rekindle discussions about his music and to ban concerts from him. The artist argues, however, that he was not the first rapper and explicit expressions in hip-hop were already in use before him. In the outro Eminem then accesses notably former Vice - President of the United States Al Gore and Lynne Cheney, wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who then vorgingen against his music. He referred to the policy as a democracy of hypocrisy and invokes the right of free speech. Finally, the rapper says that despite all the country dear America.

On the follow-up album Encore is Mosh with a thematically similar song.
