Wicked Game

Wicked Game is a song that was written by Chris Isaak and first released in 1989 on his album Heart Shaped World. Although it was released as a single in 1989, the song became popular after an instrumental version of the David Lynch film Wild at Heart (1990 ) was used. Subsequently, the single reached in January 1991, six position in the U.S. singles charts, number 10 on the UK charts and # 9 in the Media Control Charts.

Composition

Wicked Game is written in the key of B Dorian. The pictures were taken over several years in different versions and arrangements. The bass and drum tracks were inserted and looped in the version eventually published as samples from previous recordings. The guitar solo was played by James Calvin Wilsey.

Video

The first video for the song was directed by David Lynch. In this first version Pictures of Chris Isaak and band are mixed with scenes from the film Wild at Heart to see.

With the increasing popularity of the song and how to apply the published best-of compilation Wicked Games a second video directed by Herb Ritts was filmed in 1991. In this, now much more famous version of Chris Isaak lolling with an alluring and aloof Helena Christensen on the beach. Special effect received the video through its implementation in black / white, which gives the scene of coasting waves, clouds and pristine sandy beach a special classical dramaturgy.
