William Aloysius O'Connor

William Aloysius O'Connor (* December 27, 1903 in Chicago, USA, † 14 November 1983) was Bishop of Springfield in Illinois.

Life

William Aloysius O'Connor received on 24 September 1927, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On December 17, 1948, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Bishop of Springfield in Illinois. The Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Stritch Samuel, donated him on March 7, 1949, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Rockford, John Joseph Boylan, and the Bishop of Belleville, Albert Rudolph Zuroweste.

On 22 July 1975 William Aloysius O'Connor resigned as Bishop of Springfield back in Illinois.
