William Dougherty

William " Bill" Dougherty ( born April 6, 1932 † July 3, 2010 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party.

Biography

Dougherty was campaign manager of John F. Kennedy in South Dakota in the 1960 presidential election and had after the assassination of John F. Kennedy continue to maintain close links with the family of the President.

In 1971 he became Lieutenant Governor of South Dakota ( Lieutenant Governor ) during the tenure of Governor Richard F. Kneip and held this office until 1975.

Then he remained until 1999 Member of the House of Representatives from South Dakota and was known as a deputy in particular because of its lobbying.
