William Goh

William Goh Seng Chye ( born June 25, 1957 in Singapore) is Archbishop of Singapore.

Life

William Goh studied philosophy at the major seminary in Penang, Malaysia, Catholic theology at the major seminary in Singapore. He received on 1 May 1985, the ordination by Archbishop Gregory Yong Sooi Ngean. After his vicariate in Singapore, he completed a theological Lizenziatsstudium at the Gregorian University in Rome. On his return he took over 1992/1993 the parish of St. Anne in Singapore, but was appointed in 1992 professor at the seminary of Singapore. He was since 2005 Rector of St. Francis Xavier Major Seminary in Singapore.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 29 December 2012 for the Koadjutorerzbischof of Singapore. The Apostolic Nuncio, Leopoldo Girelli, donated to him on 22 February 2013, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Murphy Nicholas Xavier Pakiam, Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, and Nicholas Chia, Archbishop of Singapore.
