William Robert Johnson

William Robert Johnson ( born November 19, 1918 in Tonopah, Nevada, USA; † 28 July 1986) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Orange in California.

Life

William Robert Johnson received on 28 May 1944, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 19 February 1971 for the Titular Bishop of Blera and auxiliary bishop in Los Angeles. He received his episcopal consecration Archbishop Timothy Manning on March 25 of the same year. Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of San Francisco, Joseph Thomas McGucken, and the Bishop of Sacramento, Alden John Bell.

On March 24, 1976 Pope Paul VI appointed him. the first Bishop of Orange in California.
