Wojęcino

Wojęcino ( German Wojenthin ) is a village in Bobolice ( Bublitz ) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland.

Geographical location

Wojenthin located in Pomerania, about 14 kilometers west of the town Bublitz and 26 kilometers south-east of the regional capital of Koszalin ( Koszalin ). Neighboring villages are Tyczewo ( Tietzow ) to the west, Świelino ( Schwellin ) and Dargin ( Dargen ) in the north and Bozniewice ( hooves Mountain ) in the north- east.

History

The village Wojenthin emerged from a manor. Older spellings of the German place name are Wogentin and Woyentin. The village had its own chapel and the parish was in the parish of Schwellin.

Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied in the spring of 1945 by the Red Army and subsequently placed under Polish administration. After that, the native German population of immigrant after the war Poland was expelled due to the so-called Bierut Decrees of Wojenthin.

Wojęcino is today a district of Świelino. In 2008, the city had 90 inhabitants.
