Wolfgang Schwarz

Wolfgang Schwarz ( born 14 September 1947 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian figure skater, who started in a single run. He is the Olympic champion of 1968.

Life and career

Figure skating career

His biggest success was the surprising Olympic gold medal at the Winter X Games in Grenoble 1968, the Americans Tim Wood and Frenchman Patrick Pera. Its actually favorite compatriot Emmerich Danzer was only fourth in this competition.

At World Championships and European Championships but Black Danzer could never hit and remained so without winning the title. 1966 and 1967, he became Vice World Champion behind Danzer and from 1966 to 1968 and Vice-European Champion behind him. After his departure from competitive sports, he was in 1968 and 1969 at the ice show Holiday on Ice.

Others

2002 Black was sentenced to a prison term of one and a half years for girls trafficking in Austria. He received another prison sentence in 2006. Due attempted incitement to the kidnapping of the 18 - year-old daughter of a millionaire, he was sentenced in the first instance to eight years in prison. Since he committed the latter fact, during the detention deferment (due to a skin cancer suffering) for his first penalty, he was convicted by the Court of Appeal in early March 2007 to ten years and six months.
