Hayes Alan Jenkins

Hayes Alan Jenkins ( born March 23, 1933, Akron, Ohio ) is an American former figure skater, who started in a single run. He is the Olympic champion in 1956 and world champion from 1953 until 1956.

Hayes Alan Jenkins dominated in the four years from 1953 to 1956 the Lord competition in figure skating and thus succeeds his compatriot Richard Button. During these years he remained unbeaten, was four times U.S. champion and won four times in a row, the World Figure Skating Championships in 1953 and 1954 before his compatriot James Grogan and 1955 and 1956 ahead of compatriot Ronald Robertson. In the 1956 Olympics he won the gold medal. After end of his career his brother David relieved him both as a world champion as well as Olympic champion.

Jenkins studied law at Harvard and became a lawyer for the tire manufacturer Goodyear. He married Olympic gold medalist and World Figure Skating Champion Carol Heiss.
