Tim Wood (figure skater)

Timothy Lyle Wood ( born June 21, 1948 in Highland Park, Michigan ) is an American former figure skater, who started in a single run. He is the world champion in 1969 and 1970.

In 1968 he became Vice World Champion behind Emmerich Danzer and won silver at the Olympic Games in Grenoble behind Wolfgang Schwarz. Following the resignation of the two Austrians, he dominated the next two years the Lord competition and in 1969 and 1970 World Champion.

In most lists of results it is guided as Tim Wood. His coach was Ronald Baker. He trained first at the Detroit Skating Club and since 1969 at the Broadmoor Skating Club in Colorado Springs. After his amateur career he became a coach. He works in California and trained at times among other Elvis Stojko.
