Wolfsthal

Wolfsthal is a municipality with 896 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Bruck an der Leitha in Lower Austria.

Geography

Wolf valley is located in the industrial district ( district under the Vienna Woods ) in Lower Austria. In the north Wolfsthal borders the Danube. Between the town and the banks of the Danube, a broad floodplain extends. To the west it borders on Hainburg an der Donau. The neighboring communities in the south and east are Hundsheim, Edelstal in Burgenland and mountain. On this side of the community, the foothills of the Hainburg Mountains, which are also densely forested cover. In the east, the town of the state border with Slovakia (Petržalka, a suburb of Bratislava) is limited.

History

Population

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 750 inhabitants. In 1991 the community had 711 inhabitants in 1981 and 723 inhabitants in 1971, 795 inhabitants.

Since the Schengen Agreement on 21 December 2007 were dropped border controls on the Slovakian border, the town experienced a new upswing populous. In 2005 the town had 720 residents enrolled in Wolfsthal. On 1 January 2013 there were already 896 inhabitants. The joy of the Slovaks at the construction was favored by the proximity to the Slovakian capital of Bratislava and cheap Building Sites in Wolfsthal.
