Württemberg Tssd

The locomotives of the series were Tssd Mallet steam locomotives Württemberg for 750 mm gauge the Royal State Railways. They were first used in Oechsle between Biberach an der Riss in 1899 and Ochsenhausen. In addition, they came on the train between Federseemuseum shot Ried and Riedlingen, on the Zabergäubahn between Lauffen and Leonbronn and on the Bottwarbahn between Marbach am Neckar, Heilbronn South used. A total of nine cars were in three series à three piece in 1899, delivered in 1901 and 1904 41-49 with the track numbers that were initially referred to as Tss and later as Tssd 41-49.

T is the abbreviation for tank locomotive, ss states that there is a narrow gauge locomotive with the track width 750 mm, and the added later d is used as an abbreviation for duplex locomotive, because the steam twice, in the high-pressure and then into the low pressure cylinders is relaxed. Today duplex locomotives are called composite locomotives.

All machines were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn -Gesellschaft and received the numbers 99631-99 639 After the Second World War were still four locomotives available, which belonged now all the German Federal Railroad. They were decommissioned as follows:

  • 99 637 - March 25, 1965
  • 99 633 - March 18, 1969

Were carried by the machine 2.5 m³ ( the third series had enlarged water tanks with 3.0 m³ ) of water and 1.0 ton of coal. The maximum trailer weight ( the wagon train ) 140 t with a slope of 1:40 indicated.

Locomotives received

Been preserved for posterity are the two locomotives 99 633 and 99 637, which were both recently in the Federseemuseum track in use.

The locomotive 99 633 eV since 2007 owned by the Oechsle narrow gauge railway and ( her first Beheimatungsort ) exhibited in the roundhouse in Ochsenhausen. She was already between 1985 and 1990 ( still operational ) and since 2002 on loan at Oechsle. In 1985 she had the honor to bias the first Oechsle Museum Railway train. It is now, however, no longer operational, the club is currently collecting donations but for an operational reprocessing of the locomotive. In this, the entire boiler must be re- manufactured. It can be seen since the first showing of the BWR telecast railway romance in the opening credits of the show and as its logo. 2011 started the work-up of the new production of a boiler.

The locomotive 99 637, however, is processed externally as a technical monument at the former station forecourt in Bad Buchau, their last Beheimatungsort.
