Xbox Live Arcade

Xbox Live Arcade ( XBLA often ) is a service that Microsoft has integrated into the Xbox 360. Users with broadband Internet access can so for a fee which is paid to the so-called Microsoft Points, download games and play unlimited. The games cost 400, 800, 1200 or 1600 Microsoft Points, which corresponds to a price of about 5, 10, 15 or 20 euros.

An indecisive user also has the option, demos of games to download for free. On the hard drive of the console, the puzzle game Hexic HD is already installed. The best-selling to date Xbox Live Arcade game is implementation of the sandbox classic game Minecraft, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition.

Gamerscore

In an arcade game, the player can earn 200 Gamerscore points at a maximum of 12 achievements through additional, fee-based enhancements will increase the maximum number of points for an arcade game to 250 Gamerscore points. Since 1 June 2012, can even be free to play up to 400 points in the Xbox Live Arcade games. The game must not contain more than a maximum of 30 achievements but.

History

The service was with the launch of the Xbox 360 online on 22 November 2005.
