Yuki Ito (ski jumper)

Yūki Itō (Japanese伊藤 有 希, Itō Yūki, born May 10, 1994 Shimokawa ) is a Japanese ski jumper.

Career

Itō was on 5 March 2007 in Zaō her debut in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup. In its third competition in Sapporo she managed the third place, surprisingly for the first time the podium. But it remained for a long time the last podium place. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Zakopane she reached on the normal hill on the 18th Place. A year later, at the Junior World Championship 2009 in Štrbské Pleso she jumped to 10th place. The 2008/09 season they finished as most successful season in 25th place in the Continental Cup overall standings. In Liberec she reached the 17th place on the normal hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009. 2009 increased Itō their performance and reached on August 22, 2009 in Lillehammer again the third place. In jumping on the normal hill at the Junior World Championship 2010 in Hinterzarten she jumped to 17th place. At the end of the Continental Cup 2009/10 season they finished in 27th place.

The 2010/11 season they finished in 17th place of the Continental Cup overall standings. At the Junior World Championship 2011 in Otepaeae she took on the normal hill and a bronze medal at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, she jumped to 15th place. The premiere of the mixed- team competition as part of the Summer Grand Prix on 14 August 2012 at Courchevel French, she won with the Japanese team.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, she won with the Japanese team the gold medal in the inaugural mixed- team competition.

On January 18, 2014 Itō reached her first World Cup podium with second place in Zaō. With the Olympic debut of women's ski jumping she finished seventh.
