History

Zabitz was first mentioned in 1332, or at December 28, 1156. It is also possible that a settlement of this name may have previously existed in the 10th century, as the suffix " itz " indicates a Slavic ( Sorbian ) origin.

In the years after 1945 Zabitz was ostensibly an agricultural site. Many citizens of the village were working in the LPG of the place. With the development and the gradual recovery of the place after the second world war were looking more and more residents to work in the large farms of the former county town of Köthen. However, the main supply box was agriculture, which was also felt in the individual households.

On January 1, 2010, the formerly independent communities Zabitz, Chörau, Diebzig, Dornbock, Drosa, Elsnigk, Großpaschleben, Kleinpaschleben, Libbesdorf, Micheln, Osternienburg, Reppichau, Trinum and Wulfen merged to form a unified community Osternienburger country together. At the same time the management of Community Osternienburg, which included these communities was dissolved.

Mantzsch represents given the early evidence of the insignia of the opinion that it is formed from the former house signs or district symbols. In the early Anhalt gentry there are multiple 2:1 Asked coat of arms, their assignment only to suspect today (eg Landsberg County ) because they come from a time long before the emergence of a heraldic terminology.
