Geography

Trinum between Bernburg (Saale ) and the county town of Köthen (Anhalt) on the edge of the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve.

History

Trinum was first mentioned in 1296 and was sometimes called Drinumb. In the village there was a manor with sheep, distillery, brewery and windmill, which belonged to the baronial family of end and was leased in the 19th century, several generations of the family Sander. Around the year 1830 counted Trinum 23 houses with 152 inhabitants.

On January 1, 2010, the formerly independent communities Trinum, Chörau, Diebzig, Dornbock, Drosa, Elsnigk, Großpaschleben, Kleinpaschleben, Libbesdorf, Micheln, Osternienburg, Reppichau, Zabitz and Wulfen merged to form a unified community Osternienburger country together. At the same time the management of Community Osternienburg, which included these communities was dissolved.

The Trinumer Manor received until end of 2004 the seat of the administrative community Ziethetal. The village church featuring a newly built tower of 1787 was renewed in 1867 and is a listed building.
