Zarautz

Zarautz [ sa'ɾauts ] (Basque, Spanish Zarauz [ θa'ɾauθ ] ) is a city in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country. It is located about 20 km west of San Sebastián on the Bay of Biscay and has 22,760 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013).

The 2.5 km long and 80 m wide beach is popular with surfers and other water sports.

Policy

There is a partnership with the French town of Pontarlier and with Cardano al Campo in the Italian province of Varese.
