Zebu

The zebu or hump cattle (Bos primigenius indicus ) is a domesticated in the region of the Indian subcontinent Domestic Cattle, which is held mainly in tropical and subtropical climates.

It is much better adapted to the local climate as a European ( " taurine " ) domestic cattle breeds. In Africa, many domestic cattle breeds from crosses between zebu and taurine cattle have emerged. Since the 20th century it has been crossed in other parts of the world with a tropical climate Zebus in taurine cattle breeds in order to benefit from their heat tolerance and disease resistance advantage. Original Zeburassen give little milk and grow slower approach than taurine breeds.

Zebu cattle from a different subspecies of the aurochs from as taurine cattle. According to some experts view the original form of zebu could represent a separate species (Bos indicus) in addition to the aurochs. Genetic studies show that today's domestic cattle not know how long believed, belong to a tribe, but are descended from two different lines. Both forms appear to have been separated in the wild state around 600,000 years ago.
