Zoltan Crișan

Zoltan " Zoli " Crisan ( May 3, 1955 in Oradea, † 14 October 2003 in Craiova, Dolj county ) was a Romanian football player and coach. The midfielder played 304 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A (now League 1).

Career

Zoltan Crisan began playing football in 1969 Minerul Baia Mare, where he aufrückte into the first team in 1973 that played into the Divizia B. At the end of the season he moved to Universitatea Craiova reigning champion in the highest Romanian league, which Divizia A. On August 11, 1974, he arrived there in the away game against Universitatea Cluj to its first use. With Universitatea Craiova Crisan won the Romanian Cup in 1977 and 1978, initially twice. In the summer of 1984, Crisan left after ten successful years, Craiova and moved to his hometown for the FC Bihor Oradea, after he had been last no longer used regularly. Even in the winter break, he left Oradea and joined the league rivals FC Olt Scorniceşti. After losing in the 1986/87 season his place, Crisan joined during the winter break to Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea, but could not prevent its descent at the end of the season. In 1987, he ended his career and was then coach. With Aurul Brad, he managed to climb into the Divizia B and AS Montefano promotion to the highest amateur class in Italy. For a time he was assistant coach of the youth team of Universitatea Craiova. Under Ilie Balaci he was two months coach of the youth team of Al -Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Most recently, he coached AS Marmatia Sighetu Marmaţiei in Divizia C. As a result of his alcoholism Crisan died on 14 October 2003 from tuberculosis, which he did not treat long time. National

Crisan played 46 games for the Romanian national football team, scoring four goals. He made his debut on December 4, 1974 in a friendly against Israel when he came off the bench for half-time for Mircea Lucescu. He belonged to the squad of the national team until 1981, when he played on September 23, 1981 as part of the qualification for the 1982 World Cup against Hungary for the time being be last international match.
