Zoran Primorac

Zoran Primorac ( born May 10, 1969 in Zadar) is a Croatian tennis players. He is a three time World Cup champions and two-time European champion. Today ( 2012) he plays for Russian club Verknaya Pyshma (formerly Yekaterinburg ). In 2012, he became vice president of the National Olympic Committee of Croatia.

Beginning

With 8 years Zoran Primorac learned under the guidance of coach Tomislav " Tomo " Amizic the playing table tennis at the club Bagat Zadar, which he left in 1985 STK direction Vjesnik Zagreb, Caja Granada and UMMC Verkhnaya Pyshma. From 1984 he played successfully with double Ilija Lupulesku.

European Youth Championships

He first took part in 1983 European Junior Championships and was the team's third. The youth EMs in 1984 and 1985 he won the title in doubles with Ilija Lupulesku, 1986, he won a silver medal in the mixed ( with Emilia Ciosu ). They beat 1984 final, the German double Fetzner / Rosskopf.

European Championships

Since 1986 took Primorac - with the exception of 1996 - in all Europe championships. In 1990 he was European champion in doubles (with Lupulesku ), 1994 Mixed in with Csilla Bátorfi. He finished second in 1988 in a double ( with Lupulesku ), 1994 in a double ( with Jean -Michel Saive ), 1998 and 2000 in a single and in 2007 with the team.

World Championships

Since 1987, Primorac has been nominated for the world championships. Twice he was runner-up in doubles, in 1987 with Ilija Lupulesku and 1995 with Vladimir Samsonov. In 1991, he won a silver medal with the team.

Olympic Summer Games

Silver in the double, he also won at the 1988 Summer Olympics with Ilija Lupulesku. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Primorac participated for the sixth time at the Olympic table tennis competition and was thus participants in all previous Olympic Table Tennis tournaments.
