1984–85 Serie A (ice hockey) season
The 1984/85 season was the 51th season of the series A1, the highest Italian Hockey League. Master became the overall ninth time in the club's history of HC Bolzano. The HC Como descended to the second division.

Mode
In the main round each of the ten teams played a total of 18 games. Subsequently, the league was split into the second season phase in two groups of five teams. According to their main round placement, the teams for the second season phase received one to five bonus points. In the second season phase, the teams played in home and away leg against each group opponent. The top four teams from each group qualified for the playoffs, where the championship was played. The two latter group had to compete against each other to avoid relegation in the relegation. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
