2010 Open de Rennes
The Open de Rennes 2010 was a tennis tournament which took place in Rennes, France from 11 to 17 October 2010. It was as part of the ATP Challenger Tour 2010, the fifth edition of the tournament and was played on indoor hard courts.
The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. Ahead there was a qualification tournament for the single round in which 16 participants from four starting positions were determined. The prize money of the event was as the year before 64,000 €.
Winner of the individual competition was the unseeded Frenchman Marc Gicquel, Stéphane Bohli defeated the Swiss set at position five in three sets. It was Benneteaus seventh title at Challenger level and his only title of the season. Last year's winner Alejandro Falla came into this year not to defend his title.
In doubles, won the set at position four American pairing of Scott Lipsky and David Martin. You defeated in the finals unseeded German Denis Gremelmayr and Bjorn Phau in the match tie-break. It was Lipsky 16 doubles titles on the ATP Tour in his career and the second Challenger title of the season, the first he attained also with Martin. For Martin it was the thirteenth career title and also the second of the season. Last year's winners Eric Butorac and Lovro Zovko were not together this year at the tournament. While Zovko completely renounced a start, Butorac failed with his new partner Harsh Mankad set at position three in the first round.
