Behaviour (Pet Shop Boys album)

Behaviour (Behavior in the U.S.) is the fourth studio album by the Pet Shop Boys. It was published in October 1990 with Parlophone. It reached number 4 in Germany and in the UK # 2 on the charts.

History

Behaviour was produced by Harold Faltermeyer in his Red Deer Studios in Munich. This was because that the Pet Shop Boys were dissatisfied with the then digital studio technology and wanted to use analogue synthesizers, what Faltermeyer was the right person. However, the album goes out in parts over the synth pop, offering elements of the guitar- pop. So This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave and My October Symphony recorded with guitarist Johnny Marr.

Reception

Stephen Thomas Erlewine awarded at Allmusic 4.5 out of 5 stars and called Behaviour an " ambitious and breathtaking pop album, Which Manages to include everything from the spiteful How Can You Expect to Be Taken Seriously? to the wistful Being Boring. "
