Hirzel (Pass)

Hirzel is combines a Swiss Pass in the foothills of the cantons of Zurich and train, the Wädenswil and Sihlbrugg.

The pass ( 672 m) is located on the outskirts of the municipality of the same name. The culmination is located 682 m north of the village, on the border of the municipality Horgen.

The Zugerstrasse of Horgen on the Hanegg and the Hirzel Pass to Sihlbrugg was built by 1839-1846. This road replaced the previous Gotthard trade route from the mule track over the Hirzel Höhi. He thus lost his 600-year role as national and regional connection.
