Ian Laperrière

Ian Laperrière ( born January 19, 1974 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a retired American- Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach, who from 1994 to 2010 for the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Avalanche the Philadelphia Flyers was active on the position of the right winger in the National Hockey League. Since 2013 he is active as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Career

As a player

The 1.85 m wide winger started his professional career with the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL before he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1992 as 158th in the seventh round by the St. Louis Blues.

Already in the 1993/94 season the right shooter was first used by the Blues in the National Hockey League, beside he also played again and again for the Peoria Rivermen, a farm team in the International Hockey League, and later also for the Worcester IceCats in the AHL. After two and a half years and 71 missions in the highest North American professional league Laperrière was in December 1995 transferred in exchange for Stephane Matteau to the New York Rangers, who him even in the current season along with Ray Ferraro, Mattias Norstrom and Nathan LaFayette for Jari Kurri, Marty McSorley and Shane Churla charges to the Los Angeles Kings.

For the Kings Ian Laperrière stood until 2004 on the ice and was then obliged as a free agent by the Colorado Avalanche. On 29 October 2006, the attacker scored in the game against the Minnesota Wild in his 100th Karrieretor the National Hockey League, on 28 November of the same year he also completed his 800th NHL game.

After finishing the regular season 2010/11, in which he had completed a match due to injury, he was awarded the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. In August 2011 Laperrière received U.S. citizenship.

As coach
