List of chicken breeds

The following list contains all federally German breed poultry ( BDRG ) recognized breeds of chickens. It is complemented by the European Association for poultry, pigeons, bird, rabbit and Caviazucht (EE) recognized breeds of other national breed associations and are marked accordingly:

CSC - Český svaz chovatelů, Czech Stud
DFfR - Danmarks Fjekraeavlerforening for Raceavl, Danish Stud
FIAV - Federazione Italiana Associations Avicole, Italian Stud

The hybrid chickens used in factory farming for egg and meat production are not a race chickens. Hybrid chickens are crossed from homozygous inbred lines and are not suitable for breeding.
