Neumarkt im Hausruckkreis

Neumarkt in Hausruckkreis (also known as Tirgu Hausruckkreis or after so designated as ÖBB station Neumarkt- Kallham ) is a market town with 1450 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Hausruckviertel in Upper Austria. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

Neumarkt is located at 388 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 1.7 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 2.3 km away. The total area is only 2.1 square kilometers, Neumarkt, making it the smallest municipality in terms of area of Upper Austria. The neighboring municipalities are Kallham the north and west and Taufkirchen an der Trattnach in the south and east. The drought Aschach flows from west to east through the town.

History

Archaeological findings show that the area of Neumarkt was inhabited in the Neolithic period. In Roman times it was at the intersection of two roads to the development of a place that has developed due to its convenient location at an important trade center. Neumarkt was first documented in 1220 in a confirmation document by Pope Honorius III. as " novelty Forum " mentioned (New Market ). Neumarkt has a junction station, Neumarkt- Kallham, on the route between Wels and Passau the Austrian Western Railway. Also, one end of Linz local track can be found here. 2010, the renovation of the station was completed ( conversion costs: 53 million euros ). The entire new station is a restaurant on site and is an important regional transport hub for commuters and students.

Established businesses

Neumarkt was once a major industrial center, now many businesses are closed and withdrawn, for example, the famous leather factory worm was closed because of an environmental scandal. In Neumarkt, the headquarters of the "SIRIUS Camembert " was well ( Austria, a widely known dairy with jetzigem located in Styria ).

Home yet in Neumarkt are the private brewery Ritterbräu, a location of the global Hexcel Composites, the headquarters of the company Duswald construction as well as the company Green Earth. Neumarkt was up in the 1980s by several large companies ( Duswald mill, leather factory worm, ...) economically very strong industrially oriented ( as is part of the place, the so-called worm settlement, built specially for the workers of this plant ). Then, however, almost 20 years ago, began economic decline of this traditional company.

Music events

In recent years, the closed leather factory has been increasingly used for cultural events. The two events Wurmfestival ( rock and alternative music) and Pressure ( electronic music) enjoy out high visibility beyond the borders of Upper Austria and care into the music scene and among young people for a high level of awareness of the small community.
