Bad Schallerbach

Bad Schallerbach is a market town in Upper Austria in the Gries district churches in Hausruckviertel with 3599 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

Bad Schaller Bach is located on 308 m height at the Trattnach in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 3.8 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 3.9 km. The total area is 8.4 km ². 14.3 % of the area is forested, 66.7 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The topography of the area is part of the indoor unit Inn and Hausruckviertler hills.

History

1190 was the first documentary mention as Scalbach. Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. The municipality colors are red, white and green.

The coat of arms was Bad Schallerbach awarded shortly after the market survey 1946. It shows the well-house, built in 1932, the sulfur hot springs, which owes its importance as a public bath.

Community partnership

Belgium Koksijde (Belgium )

The oldest community partnership consists of Austria with the Belgian municipality since 1955. Every year during the summer holidays instead of an exchange program, it may drive young people of both places with a conductor after bug and Konz or after bath sound stream.

The main economic sector of Bad Schallerbach lies in Tourism ( Kurbetrieb and Tourism ).

Kurbetrieb

Bad Schallerbach is a well known for its highly effective sulfur thermal water spa. The sulfur hot spring was founded in 1918 and developed into a modern thermal complex, the euro Spas Resort Bad Schallerbach expanded.

Education

Since 1966 there is a possibility to attend a secondary school in Bad Schallerbach. The elementary school bathroom Schallerbach opened in 1971, after the old elementary school was closed in the village of Schönau.

Traffic

  • Car: Bad Schallerbach has a shuttle to Innkreis motorway A 8
  • Bus: The shuttle Kurti ( Kurtaxi ) runs since 2001 every day from 05:50 to 11:50 and 14:20 to 17:50 every half an hour in the place. Moreover, since 2004, runs the bus Walli ( Wallern line) of the neighboring village Wallern in parts bath sound of Bach. The bus lines are for holders of a guest card and locals of Bad Schallerbach and Wallern with an authorization card for free.

Culture and sights

  • Magdalenaberg Church: The church was 1398-1423 in the Gothic architectural style.
  • Schönau Church: The church served as a parish church until 1950. In the years 1965/66 the remodeling of the interior was carried out. The mosaic altarpiece with scenes from the life of St. Peter and other works of art originate from the sacral Tyrolean artist Max Spielmann (1906 - 1984).
  • New Parish: 1956 groundbreaking ceremony, 1958 Inauguration of the new parish church, built according to plans by the architect Hans Feichtinger ( from Bad Schallerbach ); artistic arrangement by the Innsbruck painter Max Spielmann ( 1906-1984 ).

  • International Music Summer: since 1996 under the direction of Artistic Director Peter Gillmayr annually in Bad Schallerbach; With about 90 concerts per year, this series of events is one of the largest and most prestigious in the country.
  • Priorities and rows: Spa Orchestra / day of Protestant church music Wallern / String Passion / musica sacra / Music Summer virtuoso / Schaller Bach Vocal / Bad Schaller Bacher Herbstlese word & ton / Advent / New Year's Eve Gala.

The Spa Orchestra was founded in 1926, in 2006 celebrated its 80th anniversary and plays from the Mother to the end of September always on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
