Pollham

Pollham is a municipality in Upper Austria in the Gries district churches in Hausruckviertel with 974 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Gries churches.

Geography

Pollham is located on the 380 m above sea level. A. the headwaters of the Polsenz (for Innbach ). The expansion is 5.1 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 3.6 km. The total area is 11.2 km ². 16.1% of the area is forested, 71.4 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Forsthof and Pollham. The only Zählsprengel is Pollham.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality of Austria above the Enns attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. The coat of arms was granted in 1973. The silver - red beams are the arms of the Polheimer, whose headquarters was in Pollham. The rust is an attribute of St. Lawrence for the parish patron.
