Pensiangan
Federal State
Pensiangan is a small town in the Malaysian state of Sabah. The city is located about 160 km in a straight line south of the state capital of Kota Kinabalu and is part of the territory Interior division. Administratively, it belongs to the district Nabawan.
History
Pensiangan was originally the district Nabawan, who was called to 2004 Pensiangan District, its name.
Opened in 1957, the colonial administration, a district office in Pensiangan. Since there were no roads in the area, came only travel in the boat with outboard, questioned on horseback or on foot as a means of transportation. The district officers who were stationed in Pensiangan were therefore equipped with horses in order to carry out their duties can. Demography

Infrastructure
Road access
Pensiangan is one of the most remote towns in Sabah. The only road access is possible from Sapulut out, however, requires the condition of the dirt road all-terrain vehicle with a high ground clearance, there is also a river has to be crossed twice. Pensiangan can be achieved by Sapulut also by boat.
School
The " Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Pekan Pensiangan " is a national primary school with six classes in boys and girls are taught together. The school was opened by Alwi Haji Ahmad, the Deputy Director of the Office of Education of Sabah, on 18 June 1983. The school is one of the few primary schools that have an attached dormitory. This is due to the fact that the catchment area of the primary school comprises some very remote settlements, which removes several hours and are only accessible by boat or within walking distance.
The school provides not only the usual teaching content traditional craft skills. Thus, students learn, for example, in " Pondok SK Pensiangan " the construction of traditional houses and roof constructions. The school has a kindergarten and a preschool and a canteen for all three facilities.
Clinic
Pensinagan has a smaller hospital, " hospital Kesihatan Pensiangan ". For more complicated procedures or emergencies, patients must be flown out by helicopter and taken to the hospital in Keningau. This service is performed by the Flying Doctor Service of Sabah Air Aviation. The lying before the town padang clinic serves as a heliport.
Justice
Pensiangan is seat of a Native Court ( Makhama Anak Negeri ). Native Courts administer justice based on the Native Courts Enactment 1992 and taking into account the traditional jurisdiction of the ethnic groups Sabahas, resulting from the traditional customs ( adat ). Before the Native Court Pensiangan a so-called Oathstone ( Oath Stone) is situated.
