Menumbok

Federal State

Menumbok, sometimes Menumbuk, is a municipality and a sub-district in the west of the Malaysian state of Sabah. The center of the municipality is located at the mouth of Sungai Klias and the northern end of the Brunei Bay. Menumbok belongs to the Interior division and lies about 165 road kilometers southwest of the state capital Kota Kinabalu. Administratively, it belongs to the district of Kuala Penyu.

Infrastructure

Menumbok investors is for the ferry traffic between Sabah and Labuan. Due to the short distance the route Menumbok - Labuan is the fastest and most affordable connection to the Federal Territory Labuan.

Policy

Menumbok part of the constituency P.177 ( Beaufort). In the Legislative Assembly of Sabah ( Dewan Negeri Sabah Undangan ) of the sub-district is represented by the members of the constituency Kuala Penyu N.26.

Structure of the sub-district

The sub-district Membakut is divided into three municipalities ( Mukim ):

  • Mukim Mempakul with the city Menumbok and the settlements Mempakul, Kampung According Menumbok, Kampung Darat Menumbok, Kampung Bukit Nuri, Kampung Peringan and Kampung Sarap / Siampak
  • Mukim Tanjung Aru with the settlements ( kampung ) Tanjung Aru, Sangkabok, Lambidan, Melikai, Manggis / Golong - Golongan, Jungkun and Jagus
  • Mukim Kilugus the settlements ( kampung ) Kilugus, Siaun, Sinapokan, Matadan, Kelampun, Kepayan Skim and Batu linting
