Râu de Mori

Râu de Mori, old spelling Riu de Mori [ rɨu de mor ] (deprecated Suseni; German mill village, Hungarian Malomvíz ) is a municipality in the district of Hunedoara in Transylvania, Romania.

Râu de Mori is also known by the German name Mühldorf and the Hungarian Malomvize.

Geographical location

The community Râu de Mori is located in southwestern Transylvania in Hatzeger Country ( Tara Hategului ), in the northern foothills of the Retezat Mountains. History

The place Râu de Mori, a former Nationals village was first mentioned in documents in 1359. 1850 lived on the territory of the present municipality of 3,781 people. 3,619 of these were Romanians, 73 Roma, 70 Hungarians, Saxons eleven and eight others.
