Robeson County, North Carolina

Robeson County is a county located in the state of North Carolina of the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lumberton, named after its location on the Lumber River.

Geography

The County is located in the central southeastern North Carolina, is bounded on the southwest by South Carolina and has an area of ​​2463 square kilometers, of which 6 square kilometers is water area. History

Robeson County was formed in 1786 from parts of Bladen County. It was named after Thomas Robeson, a Colonel in the Revolutionary War.
