Thomas William Lemuel Prowse

Thomas William Lemuel Prowse ( born August 31, 1888 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Iceland, † 1973) was a Canadian businessman and politician. From 1950 to 1958 he was vice- governor of the province of Prince Edward Iceland.

The son of the House of Commons MPs Lemuel E. Prowse studied at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown. Later he managed the family-owned clothing company Prowse Brothers Ltd.. For eight years, Prowse was at the City Council of Charlottetown, 1930-1932, he served as mayor. As a member of the Prince Edward Iceland Liberal Party he joined in 1935 with success in the elections to the Legislative Assembly and remained until 1947 deputy. Governor General Lord Alexander sworn Prowse on 4 October 1950 as Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Iceland. This representative office he held until March 31, 1958.
