16th arrondissement of Marseille

The 16th Arrondissement is an arrondissement ( district) of the southern French city of Marseille. 2008, there were 17,457 people. This makes it the least populated, while the least densely populated district of the city.

The district is located in the northwest of the city limits. To the north it borders on Les Pennes -Mirabeau, in the east and south to the 15th arrondissement. The Mediterranean Sea forms a natural border to the west. In the northwest, the district borders the municipality of Le Rove.
